Welcome — I’m so glad you’re here.

 

I’m Clare Galdes, an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, counsellor, consultant, and supervisor with a deep passion for supporting people who are navigating complex mental health challenges, trauma, and dual diagnosis.

My approach is grounded in compassion, practical support, and a deep belief in your capacity for change, healing, and growth.

Over the past 20 years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside individuals and families facing some of life’s toughest challenges. I bring warmth, honesty, and real-world understanding to my work — because healing isn’t just about theory, it’s about building genuine connection and creating a path forward that makes sense for you.

 

My practice areas include:

 

  • Dual diagnosis (mental health and substance use challenges)

  • Trauma and complex trauma recovery

  • Mental health support

  • Parenting support and coaching

  • Neurodiversity (including ADHD, autism, and related conditions)

  • Grief, loss, and life transitions

  • Professional supervision for counsellors and health professionals

 

With formal qualifications in counselling, mental health, training and assessment, and clinical supervision — and extensive experience in both clinical and community settings — I offer a practical, strengths-based approach that honours where you are and helps you move toward where you want to be.

 

I work from a trauma-informed, person-centred, and collaborative model, drawing on evidence-based therapies including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, and strengths-based approaches.

Above all, I work in partnership with you, respecting your story and your goals.

A little about me personally:

Outside of my professional work, I value spending quality time with my family, enjoying music, and finding opportunities for new experiences and adventures. I believe that connection, joy, and meaning are essential parts of a fulfilling life — and I bring that philosophy into my work every day.
